JEDDAH, June 14 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
on Thursday praised the latest resolution by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) calling for international protection for the Palestinian people.
The OIC said in a statement that volume of the support given for the resolution depicts significant international backing for Palestinian people's rights and constitutes a sound international stand for achieving justice, accountability and ensuring respect for international human law, as well as relevant UN resolutions.
OIC Secretary General Yousef Al-Othaimeen hailed the principled stance on part of the majority of the world states that backed sovereignty of the law and united to support regional peace and stability.
The UNGA voted on Wednesday for a draft resolution calling for international protection for the Palestinian people. (end)
