PARIS, May 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to France Sami Al-Sulaiman on Tuesday stressed on importance of the declaration issued by the international conference on Libya that was held earlier today to find a comprehensive settlement to the country's crisis.
Speaking to KUNA in a statement, Al-Sulaiman affirmed that it is imperative to implement the declaration, approved by the four Libyan parties, which attended today's conference.
This conference, which was held after years of the conflict and brought together all Libyan parties for the first time, opened a new stage of stability and cooperation towards drawing up a constitution and holding presidential and legislative elections by the end of this year, the ambassador said.
He underlined the need to enhance Libya's national unity through dialogue provided by national reconciliation initiatives so as to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Libyan crisis.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude to the French efforts chaired by President Emmanuel Macron that led to the issuance of today's declaration.
He also lauded efforts exerted by UN envoy for Libya Ghassan Salama aiming to find a political solution to the country's crisis.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the conference included Advisor Talal Al-Ghanim and Third Secretary Abdullah Al-Saleh. (end) mgz.hm
