Macron, Sisi discuss regional developments

CAIRO, May 27 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi received on Sunday a phone call from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macaron, during which the two leaders discussed the latest Libyan and regional developments.
The Egyptian president affirmed during the call Egypt's keenness on supporting efforts over a political settlement in Libya, pointing to the importance of preparing for the upcoming elections in Libya, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement.
Meanwhile, he praised the Egyptian efforts to restore political stability in Libya, and to unify its military establishment, the statement added.
Moreover, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Syrian crisis. They underlined the need for concerted international efforts to move forward the political settlement in Syria and end the human suffering.
Both sides discussed ways of strengthening relationship and enhancing their cooperation in various fields, it added. (end) asm.haq
