Ankara, Washington reach roadmap over Syrian city of Manbej - Turkey

ISTANBUL, May 25 (KUNA) -- Turkish and American officials, meeting in Ankara Friday, reached a roadmap to enforce security and stability in Syrian northern city of Manbej, which was controlled by the Democratic Union Party, the foreign ministry said.
"A roadmap has been reached to enforce security and stability in Syrian city of Manbej, during a meeting with an American delegation in Ankara today," the ministry added in a statement.
No further details were available.
It added that Turkish Foreign Minister Mavlut Cavusolug would be meeting US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on June 4.
Ankara and Washington are at odds over the US support of the Democratic Union Party which has been controlling Manbej. Turkey wants the US to force the party leave Manbej, mostly inhabited by Arabs. (end) ta.bs
