Iran deal signatories meet in Vienna

VIENNA, May 25 (KUNA) -- Senior officials of the signatories of the Iran nuclear deal, excluding the US, are meeting in Vienna on Friday in an effort to save the 2015 agreement.
For the first time since the nuclear agreement became effective in 2015, China, Russia, France, Britain and Germany are gathering here at Iran's request.
They are seeking to find a plan to save the accord by means of keeping oil and investment flows and bypass US sanctions, diplomats told reporters in Vienna.
They cited a recent report released by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as saying Iran is still abiding by the deal's key restrictions on its nuclear facilities in return for relief from damaging economic sanctions.
It is the first meeting since US President Donald Trump decided to pull out of the nuclear agreement on May 8. (end) amg.mt
