Turkish army says ready to carry out task in Aegean sea

ISTANBUL, May 20 (KUNA) -- The Turkish army is ready to implement any operations in Aegean Sea without any hesitation, cautioning against miscalculations regarding Turkey, the chief of staff said on Sunday.
"Turkey wanted to carry out its activities in compliance with the international law, bilateral agreements and navigation rules," Gen. Hulusi Akar said after witnessing White Storm military exercises conducted in East Mediterranean and Aegean waters.
"We always say if dialogue and cooperation cannot solve the issue, we will use our powers without hesitation," Akar added.
He vowed that his army would continue its fight against terrorism without any pause.
The Turkish army chief added that operations against terrorist organizations were being carried out in east and southeast Anatolia, as well as Syria. (end) ta.mt
