BEIRUT, May 15 (KUNA) -- Lebanon's President Michel Aoun received Tuesday a letter from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The letter was handed to Aoun by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdulaal Al-Qenaie, Lebanese Presidency said in a statement.
His Highness the Amir congratulated the Lebanese President on the success of the country's recent parliamentary elections, added the statement.
He also lauded the high-level of organization in the electoral process, which helped voters cast their ballots with ease and grace, it noted.
Meanwhile, Aoun and Al-Qenaie discussed recent developments in the region in light of the inauguration of the US Embassy in Jerusalem and simultaneous violent events.
The two sides also discussed Kuwait's request to UNSC to hold a session on the situation in the Middle East, inlcuding Gaza Strip.
Afterwards, the Kuwaiti diplomat told reporters he has also conveyed His Highness the Amir's congratulations to Aoun on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Al-Qenaie also expressed hope for swift formation of the new Lebanese government in order to capitalize on the democratic success attained by the country's parliamentary elections. (end) ff.ma
