1935 -- The tenth ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, visited Britain and discussed with Queen Mary means to boost bilateral ties.
1951 -- The first customs regulation was issued, reducing customs tariffs from 6.5 percent to 4.0 percent.
1963 -- Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hoisted Kuwait's Flag among UN member states' flags, after the Security Council accepted the country's membership request.
1972 -- The Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the cement factory of Kuwait Cement Company in Shuaiba, with a production capacity of 300,000 tons annually.
1982 -- An Amiri decree was issued to establish Kuwait Fire Directorate.
1996 -- Kuwait and Oman allowed travel of their citizens between their territories using only civil ID cards.
1998 -- Kuwait's Commerce and Industry Ministry granted a patent certificate for Khalid Al-Enezi, a Kuwaiti citizen who invented a machine to help crippled people walk.
2000 -- Kuwaiti security personnel arrested infiltrators recruited by the Iraqi intelligence to gather information on Kuwait and spread rumors. They were found in possession of narcotics.
2000 -- A specialized center was inaugurated at the Shooting and Equestrian Club to help conserve the Arab stallion breed.
2003 -- Fatima Habib, a Kuwaiti researcher, received a patent certificate for her scientific achievements in immunity-related sciences.
2007 -- Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah issued an order dissolving the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee's board, and the boards of sports unions.
2010 -- Former MP Mohammad Ahmed Al-Rushaid passed away at the age of 90. He was the first Member of Parliament in Kuwait's history to grill a minister.
2014 -- National Assembly approved resignation of MPs Riadh Al-Adsani, Abdulkareem Al-Kanderi, Hussain Guwai'an, Ali Al-Rashed and Safaa Al-Hashim.
2014 -- Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) inaugurated the third large petroleum refinery station in Luxembourg.
2016 -- Kuwait and the Tajik republic signed six accords for political consultation, cooperation in security, education, scientific research, aviation and agriculture.
2016 -- Former MP Hamad Al-Joan passed away. He was 69. The deceased was one of the propagators of the Public Authority for Social Securities. (end) gta
