Arab Parliament urges UNSC to protect Palestinians

CAIRO, May 14 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament called on UN Security Council Monday to urgently intervene and stop Israeli massacres against the Palestinian people.
Arab Parliament president Mishal Al-Selmi, in a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, said UNSC was legally and morally responsible to stopping the Israeli occupation forces' "massacres' against the unarmed civilians, killing some 52 people and injuring over 2,000 others.
He urged the UNSC to condemn these "vicious crimes" and provide protection for the Palestinian people.
Since its occupation of Arab lands in 1948, he said, the Israeli occupation has been terrorizing, displacing, killing and ethnically cleansing the Palestinian people, in blatant violation of UN Charter and international agreements.
Al-Selmi said the US was fully responsible for the ramifications caused by its decision to transfer the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which would not change the historic fact that Al-Quds was an occupied city and was the eternal capital of Palestine. (end) mfm.bs
