Kuwait starts 2nd phase of Al-Shubaikah water project in Yemen

RIYADH, May 8 (KUNA) -- "Kuwait By Your Side" humanitarian campaign has begun installing water pumps to Al-Shubaikah water well in Ataq city in the southern Yemen city of Shabwa to help end the problem of water shortage in the city.
This signals the start of the second phase of an ambitious project to rehabilitate the water network in Shabwa, the campaign announced in a press statement Tuesday.
The rotating president of the Kuwaiti-Yemeni Relief Committee Abu Ismail Alqurashi pointed out that the project would complete in one-month time.
He added that the project would ensure the availability of safe drinking water for 150,000 people.
Kuwait By Your Side campaign has been implementing water projects across Yemen to address the chronic water problem in the war-torn country. The campaign has been also providing food and medical aid to people as well as building shelters and schools to serve and alleviate the suffering of the people affected by the ongoing conflict there.
