Arab coalition kill top Houthi militias, destroy positions - spokesman

RIYADH, May 7 (KUNA) -- The Saudi-led Arab coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen killed Houthi militants in a number of areas in Yemen, as well as destroying over 100 positions and military equipment used by the outlawed group, coalition spokesman said Monday.
Colonel Turki Al-Malki told a news conference the coalition air force killed top Houthi militias, destroyed 107 positions and damaged more than 300 military equipment.
Coalition forces also removed naval mines placed by Houthis to disrupt international navigation, he said.
Al-Malki said Saada and northern Omran were used by Houthis to fire ballistic missiles and store weapons.
He added the Yemeni national army were closing down on Houthis on west coast of the country as well as in Saada.
The coalition, said Al-Malki, was allowing more ships loaded with humanitarian supplies reach Yemen's Hudaida port, but the Houthis were hampering mission of relief aid workers. (end) mdm.bs
