Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED)
GAZA, April 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is to provide USD 15 million for the infrastructure projects in the Gaza and Deir Al-Balah Governorates of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Government said Saturday.
This is part of a grant channeled through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
The State of Kuwait has always been a pioneer supporting reconstruction efforts in the Strip, Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mufid Al-Hasayneh said.
It is also one of the countries most committed to pledges made during the Gaza Donor Conference held in Cairo following Israel's 2014 aggression on the Strip, the minister added.
On behalf of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Al-Hamdallah, Al-Hasayneh thanked Kuwait's leadership and people for their continuous support to the Palestinian Cause, and the reconstruction process.
Kuwait pledged USD 200 million as part of USD 5.4 billion donation made during the Cairo's conference. (end)
