Macron urges global synergy to combat terror financing

PARIS, April 26 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday called for global cooperation to deny terrorists any finance.
"We have to cut off terrorism at its roots; it feeds on human trafficking, drugs and weapons. There's always an underlying economy," Marcon said at the closing session of the two-day Paris Conference to Combat Terrorism Financing.
He cautioned that terrorists are using increasingly hard-to-track tools to transfer money and collect donations.
"Our enemies are mobile and innovative. They are all the time changing tactics -- they use all the modern technologies." "That is why we must combat (them) with total determination." He lauded for the conferees pledge for better information-sharing and coordination to detect and stop terror financing worldwide.
He noted that participants had also agreed to improve the traceability of funds going to non-governmental organizations and charity associations.
Kuwait Finance Minister Nayef Al-Hajraf led the national delegation to the Paris Conference to Combat Terrorism Financing, attended by 80 relevant ministers from 72 countries alongside 500 experts on the subject. (pick up previous) mjz.ibi
