Three Kuwaitis qualify for final phases of Katara poetry tourney

DOHA, April 25 (KUNA) -- The general establishment of Katara Prize for Prophet's Poet announced on Wednesday the qualification of three Kuwaitis to compete in the final phases of the competition organized to kick off Wednesday until April 28.
The Kuwaitis qualified for the final phases in the Nabati category are Sultan Al-Ajmi and Mohammad Al-Harbi as well as their compatriots Noqa Al-Mutairi. The competition includes also two poets of Qatar.
The contesters in the event were at similar levels in terms of creativity and performance, said head of the arbitration committee Faleh Al-Hajri. Due to this, the committee's members were embarrassed to choose the best poems, but the contest law requires the nomination of five names out of 15 participants, he added.
The prizes allocated to the winners are estimated at Qatari riyal 4.2 million for the two categories; three prizes for each one.
The winners of the first, second and third positions will get QR one million, QR 700,000, and QR 400,000 respectively.
The competition aims to cultivate the love of The Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) in minds of the young generations and keep them attached with his history and traditions. (end) nnd.tb.hm
