Kuwait's Araby eliminates Qadsia 3-0, in His Highness Amir Cup

KUWAIT, April 25 (KUNA) -- Al-Araby SC football team was able to eliminate Qadsia from the 56th edition of His Highness the Amir Cup tournament, with a 3-0 victory on Wednesday.
Al-Araby's player Hussain Al-Mosawi scored a hat trick in the second half, helping his team to qualify for the quarterfinals.
On the sidelines of the game held at Jaber stadium, there was a ceremony marking the retirement of Al-Qadsia's player Nuhair Al-Shammari, under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
In the same competition, Al-Salmiya and Al-Sahel beat Kathma and Al-Yarmouk 4-2 and 3-1 respectively.
There will be four matches tomorrow (Thursday): Al-Shabab against Al-Nasr, Al-Tadamon against Al-Fahaheel, Al-Jahra against Burgan and Khaitan against Al-Sulabikhat.
Groups 1 includes Kuwait Club, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Sahel, Al-Shabab, Al-Nasr, Al-Tadamon and Al-Fahaheel.
Group 2 contains Al-Qadsiya, Al-Araby, Al-Jahraa, Burgan, Al-Salmiya, Kathma, Khaitan and Al-Sulaibikhat.
His Highness the Amir soccer cup competition was launched in the 1961-1962 season. Al-Qadsia won the title 16 times, Al-Araby 15, Kuwait Club 12, Kathma seven, Al-Salmia and Al-Yarmouk each twice and Al-Fahaheel one time. (end) fr.fsh.hm
