BAGHDAD, April 24 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi promised to continue shelling sites of the so-called Islamic State (IS) inside Syria, until complete annihilation.
In a press conference, Al-Abadi said his country will continue bombardment of IS locations, and would "go even further than that" in prohibiting it from returning to Iraq.
Al-Abadi refused to explain what he meant by "further than that," adding that his country is committed to eliminate IS or any similar entities in the future.
The Iraqi premier noted that such campaign will bring back the world's attention to this organization and the importance of eliminating it, stressing that such issue was abandoned in Syria to the complex situation there.
On April 19, the Iraqi military said that 36 IS members were killed in an air raid targeting their location east of Syria. (end)
