CAIRO, April 24 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait's Supreme Judicial Council and the Cassation Court, and President of the Constitutional Court Yousef Al-Mutaw'a has commended the outcomes of the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils' (UACCC) meetings.
The discussions were deep regarding the constitutional aspect, he told KUNA in a statement on Tuesday on the sidelines of the meeting's final session.
He said that the topics discussed by the conferees focused on how to make "reconciliation" among public order, public morality and all matters stipulated by the constitutions like freedoms as right of all citizens.
The meeting discussed a report by the union's head on activities carried out during the previous period and the action plan to be impalement in the upcoming two years as well as the formation of the union's executive board, he noted.
Al-Mutaw'a pointed out that the meeting's agenda included the approval of the union's proposed general budget and the final accounts for the past years as well as the discussion of the affairs of the union's council and the publication list approved by the executive board.
The meeting of the general assembly presented several topics to be discussed in the 11th scientific forum, he said, indicating that the State of Kuwait submitted three proposals in this regard.
The proposals are related to means of implementing the constitutional provisions and controlling the penal texts in terms of constitutional aspects and their formulation, he revealed.
Al-Mutaw'a also pointed out that the proposals are pertaining to how to amend the laws of establishing constitutional courts, referring that these topics are "important" and were accepted by all participants. He stated that Jordan would chair the union for the next period.
Al-Mutaw'a finally thanked all union's staff for their efforts, well-organization and preparations for these successful meetings. (end) mah.rgh.hm
