Two Kuwaitis win 2nd, 3rd place in Doha's rally

DOHA, April 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti auto racers, Abdulaziz Al-Bashir and Thwaini Al-Thwaini won second and third place in the second round of Qatar Cross Country Rally (QCCR or Manateq 2018-19) on Monday.
Abdulaziz Al-Bashir and his navigator Faisal Al-Zaidan won the second place in T3 category, using Can-Am Maverick X3 as their vehicle, and with a record of 5.58.00 hours.
Al-Thwaini and his navigator Mohammad Al-Tahnoun won third place in the same category, using Polaris Razor as their automobile, recorded 8.58.43 hours.
Qatari Mohammad Al-Attiyah won first place in that category.
Al-Bashir expressed, in a statement to KUNA, his utmost pleasure for this win, after what he described a fierce competition from all participants, which included racers from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan and Russia.
Last week, a Super Special Stage saw the Kuwaiti duo Nasser Al-Ajmi and Mohammad Al-Awadhi finishing second in the T1 Petrol race on their Nissan in 11.55.44 hours, just after Qatar's Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani who finished first in 4.43.54 hours.
QCCR is the 4th round of the World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. (end) nnd.mb
