KUWAIT, April 22 (KUNA) -- 1969 -- "Saad" kids magazine was published.
1980 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decree 23/1980, concerning supervision and control of precious metals and gems activities in the country.
1990 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ordered the establishment of a National Council tasked with studying negative impact of lack of or inadequate cooperation between executive and legislative authorities.
2001 -- Kuwait won membership of the executive council of the Union of Islamic Universities.
2001 -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) opened gathering center number 28 with a production capacity of 210,000 barrels of crude oil per day, and 143 million cubic foot of gas per day.
2002 -- Kuwait University won the e-excellence award for best Kuwaiti governmental project.
2003 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decree 10/2003, concerning the unified GCC customs law.
2003 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued decree 12/2003, concerning approval of subsidiary budgets for ministries and state bodies, virtue of which they are allowed to acquire KD 500 million from the state general reserve.
2006 -- Kuwait Sports Club was crowned champion of the Sheikh Fahad Al-Ahmad Soccer Tournament for the eighth time upon defeating Al-Qadisiya Club 2-0 in the final match.
2008 -- The Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah inaugurated the Third Expanded Ministerial Conference of the Neighboring Countries of Iraq, with participation of 29 countries, and international and regional organizations.
2010 -- Actor Faihan Al-Arbeed, one of Kuwait's prominent stars of theatre and television since the 1960s, died at the age of 69. (end) gta
