Kuwait welcomes North Korea's nuclear test halt

KUWAIT, April 21 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait on Saturday welcomed North Korea's recent decision to suspend its nuclear and ballistic activities.
This positive step would contribute to building confidence, defusing tension, which the world has long suffered, promoting security and stability and leading to de-nuking Korean Peninsula, an official source at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said.
Korean leaders are hoped to agree on lasting peace in Korean Peninsula when they come together on April 27, the source added.
Pyongyang announced late on Friday halting the nuclear and missile activities as a good-will gesture ahead of a scheduled meeting between presidents of North and South Korea. (end) mt
