KUWAIT, April 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ambassador to Cuba Mohammad Fadhel presented his credentials on Saturday to Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Dominican Republic Miguel Vargas as a non-resident Ambassador to the country.
In a press statement, Ambassador Fadhel told KUNA that minister Vargas expressed desire to visit Kuwait in preparation for Dominican's President Danilo Madina visit to the Gulf country.
The meeting also dealt with ways of strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries and issues of common concern, he said.
On upcoming Kuwaiti-Dominican activities, a Kuwait Fund for the Economic Development (KFAED) regional director for South America and the Caribbean will visit the Dominican Republic to boost cooperation, the Ambassador added.
Ambassador Fadhel indicated that he would focus on discussing the arrangements to hold a joint committee meeting between the two countries headed by Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his counterpart Vargas.
A Kuwaiti military delegation is currently visiting the Dominican Republic to participate in a military sports tournament. (end) mus.ss
