BEIRUT, April 12 (KUNA) -- At least three people were killed on Thursday when a mine exploded in the outskirts of Arsal town, northeast Lebanon.
National News Agency said the mine was laid by "terrorist groups" that had been active in the area in the last years.
Since controlling the entire northeastern area bordering Syria last summer, the Lebanese army has been working to defuse mines and dismantle improvised explosive devices left by these groups.
The army seized large numbers of improvised devices explosives, explosive belts as well as weapons and ammunition hidden at depots and caves used by militants. (end)
