Work at joint Oman's Duqm Refinery to be launched April 26th - Oil Min.
By Osama Jalal KUWAIT, April 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Bakheet Al-Rashidi unveiled the laying of the foundation stone for the project to overhaul Al-Doqom refinery and build the petrochemical industries complex in the Sultanate of Oman on April 26.
Al-Rashidi told KUNA Monday evening after receiving a visiting Vietnamese delegation that Al-Doqom Refinery will be established on a total area of 900 hectares. Once completed, the refinery will have the capacity to process 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day for both local and international markets.
Al-Rashidi met with the Vietnamese delegation, headed by the Governor of Tanhua province, Tran Van Xian, with the presence of a number of oil sector led by KPC Chief Executive Officer Nizar Al-Adasani and Chief Executive Officer of KPI, Nabil Burusli.
The Kuwaiti minister praised Tanhua province in Vietnam for supporting the projects of Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) in Vietnam. The refinery, erected in Nghi Song, a region located 200 kilometers south of the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, has a refining capacity of 200,000 barrels per day. (end) osj.haq
