Sullivan, British FM discuss alleged chemical attack in Syria

WASHINGTON, April 10 (KUNA) -- U.S. Acting Secretary of State John Sullivan spoke by phone twice on Monday with UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson during which they discussed the suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria, the Department of State announced.
State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a statement that Sullivan and Johnson discussed during these calls "the alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, Syria, which killed dozens of innocent civilians and injured several hundred more." She added that they also discussed "the international community's response and potential further steps the U.S. and UK governments might take in coordination with other partners." President Donald Trump affirmed earlier Monday that his administration will make "major decisions" on Syria in the next 24 to 48 hours, saying "this is about humanity, and it can't be allowed to happen," adding "it was atrocious."
