GCC condemns chemical attack on Douma

RIYADH, April 9 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani Monday strongly condemned the chemical attack on the Syrian town of Douma, killing and injuring scores of innocent civilians.
He said this attack was a "vicious war crime," and the attackers were distant from moral and human values, and should be punished.
"This crime is a blatant breach of principles of international humanitarian law, the chemical weapons ban agreement and international Security Council resolutions," said Al-Zayani.
He called on the UN Security Council to protect the Syrian civilians, punish those responsible for the chemical weapons attack and speed up the delivery of humanitarian aid for the Syrian displaced. (end) od.bs
