MANAMAH, April 8 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa Sunday underscored significance of the Arab summit due to be hosted by Saudi Arabia later this month, in shadow of crucial regional developments.
The official news agency, BNA, said the premier affirmed the forthcoming summit importance during a reception of Arab diplomats, led by the dean of the diplomatic corps and the State of Kuwait Ambassador, Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The Kingdom is capable of ensuring that the summit conference "attain aspirations of the regoinal states and peoples, with respect of security, stability and growth," he said.
He expressed hope the summit would result in bolstering joint Arab action in the face of various challenges, calling for unity of the Arabs' ranks and viligance in face of conspiracies.
Meanwhile the diplomats congratulated the premier on the recent discovery of a major oil-gas field.
Sheikh Azzam for his part lauded the premier noticeable role in cementing the Arab solidarity and backing up Arab causes. (end) hmd.rk
