Trump says want to deploy military along border with Mexico

WASHINGTON, April 3 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he wants to start deploying the military along the borders with Mexico until a wall is built.
Speaking to reporters in the Cabinet Room at the White House during his meeting with President Kersti Kaljulaid of Estonia, President Raimonds Vejonis of Latvia and President Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania, Trump stressed "until we can have a wall and proper security, we're going to be guarding our border with the military.
That's a big step. We really haven't done that before, or certainly not very much before." He added "we cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing, and by the way never showing up for court." On the caravan of Central Americans that was recently stopped by Mexico as it traveled to the border, Trump said "if it reaches our border our laws are so weak and so pathetic, it's like we have no border." He affirmed that the caravan "doesn't irritate me, the caravan makes me very sad that this could happen to the United States." He stressed that former President Barack Obama "made changes that basically created no border.
"We need to have a wall that's about 700-800 miles" of the border, he remarked. (end) si.mb
