WASHINGTON, April 2 (KUNA) -- U.S. President Donald Trump will welcome Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Mar-a-Lago, Florida from April 17-18, it was announced Monday.
The White House said in a statement that Trump and Abe's "third summit meeting will reaffirm the United States' alliance with Japan as a cornerstone of peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region."
It added that the two two leaders will discuss "the international campaign to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea in advance of President Trump's planned meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un."
They will also "explore ways to expand fair and reciprocal trade and investment ties between the United States and Japan, two of the world's wealthiest and most innovative economies." (end)
