Delegation of Kuwait journalists arrives in Basra

BAGHDAD, April 1 (KUNA) -- A delegation of Kuwaiti journalists arrived in Iraq's southern city of Basra Sunday for talks with local officials and visit archeological sites in the nearby Thi Qar Governorate.
Adnan Al-Rashed, Secretary General of Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA), told KUNA at Safwan border crossing meetings and coordination between journalists were important to boosting relations between Kuwait and Iraq.
He said the fact the delegation arrived by land "is of great significance because it is important to break the psychological barrier facing the communicaiton by land between Iraq and Kuwait." The delegation is due to meet Basra Governor Asaad Al-Aaidani, visit some archeological sites and the marshes in Thi Qar Governorate.
The delegation also includes KUNA Deputy Director General for Editorial Saad Al-Ali, Chief Editor of Al-Anbaa Newspaper Yusu Al-Marzouq, Chief Editor of Kuwait Times Abdulrahman Al-Ulayyan and Media Advisor at His Highness the Prime Minister's Diwan Hassan Al-Sayegh. (end) ahh.bs
