CAIRO, March 30 (KUNA) -- The Arab League condemned Friday in the strongest terms the Israeli forces' "brutal" attacks against Palestinians who were holding peaceful demonstrations to mark the Land Day, killing at least 15 and injured over 1,416 others.
Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit said the Israeli occupation was legally, politically and morally responsible for "those souls that were annihilated."
Terrorism will not only suppress the Palestinians, he said, but would "make the situation explode just like what happened today."
The Land Day, which mark the right of return of the Palestinians, means identity and home for the Palestinians, said the statement.
Turkey and Jordan also condemn the killings, while Russia voiced grave concern over high number of fatalities. (end)
