AMMAN, March 29 (KUNA) -- The Decapolis, or ten cities in Greek, were a strategic Roman Empire outposts situated in the Levant region between 64 BC until around 135 AD.
The remnants of the Decapolis are still visible in various cities in what is now known as the Kingdom of Jordan.
Almost similar in structures and layouts, the Decapolis were cities of political, commercial, and military importance for the Roman Empire, which today stand as monuments of a distant past. (end) mjb.gta
