Kuwait is spending USD 26 million on road projects

KUWAIT, March 27 (KUNA) -- The director general of the roads authority and land transports, Ahmad Al-Hesan, said on Tuesday that the authority had hammered out a plan to execute up to 80 ventures aimed at facilitating traffic in coming years.
Speaking at a news conference, Al-Hesan put total value of the package of ventures at KD eight billion (USD 26 million).
He added that the authority projected budget for next year amounted to KD 500 million (USD 1.6 billion), in addition to KD 13 million (USD 42 million) earmarked for miscellaneous expenditures.
Eight of these projects have already been "finalized," he said.
Al-Hesan put funds spent on infrastructural projects over the past years in the range of KD 1.6 billion (USD 5.2 billion). (end) am.rk
