GCC chief deplores Houthi missile attack on Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, March 26 (KUNA) -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has condemned in the strongest terms a barrage of missiles fired by Yemen's Houthi rebels into Saudi Arabia late Sunday, in which cities across the Kingdom were targeted.
The "terrorist attack was an act of cowardice that threatens the lives of innocent civilians," GCC secretary general Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani said in a statement.
He went on to commend the Saudi air force for intercepting and destroying the missiles, urging the international community to act upon the Houthi rebels' wanton aggression that only serves to prolong the war in Yemen.
Houthi rebels in Yemen fired a volley of ballistic missiles towards Saudi Arabia on Sunday, including the capital, Riyadh, where at least one person was killed by shrapnel. (end) mdm.nam
