Iraq denies Turkish forces crossing into Iraq's city of Sinjar

BAGHDAD, March 25 (KUNA) -- Iraq denied Turkish troops' border crossing to carry out a military operation in the city of Sinjar in Nineveh province, north of the country.
A statement issued by Iraqi Security Information office quoted Iraqi Joint Operations Command, denying any movement of foreign forces across Iraqi borders.
"The security situation in Nineveh, Sinjar and the border area is under control of Iraqi forces and there is no crossing of any troops from Iraqi borders into those areas," the operations command said.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared on Sunday the start of military operations in the northern Iraqi city of Sinjar. (end) ahh.mb
