Trump threatens to veto spending bill

WASHINGTON, March 23 (KUNA) -- President Donald Trump on Friday said he was thinking about vetoing the spending legislation just passed by Congress because of immigration issues, including his campaign promise to build a wall along the US-Mexico border. "I am considering a veto of the omnibus spending bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in bill) and the border wall, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded," Trump tweeted.
DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) is a program that delays the deportation of children of illegal immigrants who were brought to the US by their parents.
Trump administration officials previously said Trump would sign the spending legislation. (end) rm.rk
