Arab finance orgs conclude coordinating meeting in Sudan

KHARTOUM, March 22 (KUNA) -- The 81st regular meeting of the coordinating group of the Arab and regional development financing organizations concluded in Khartoum Thursday.
In statements to KUNA following the meeting, head of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) delegation Marawan Al-Ghanim described the meeting as successful.
The meeting tackled a slew of important issues related to financing of development projects in the region, he said.
He noted that the conferees were briefed about KFAED's role in the recently Kuwait-hosted international conference for the reconstruction of Iraq as well as in Egypt's Sinai development program.
Al-Ghanim reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment towards fulfilling its pledges in East Sudan rebuilding conference.
A KFAED mission had visited East Sudan to assess a proposed sanitary drainage project there, and another one would be dispatched to evaluate the use of natural gas produced from Neem oilfield in southwestern Sudan to set up a power station in East Sudan, he said. (end) mmm.ibi
