Mattis, Saudi CP reaffirm importance of bilateral defense relationship - Pentagon

WASHINGTON, March 22 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al-Saud affirmed the importance of the U.S.-Saudi Arabia defense relationship, the Pentagon announced Thursday.
Pentagon Chief Spokesperson Dana White said in a statement on the meeting between Mattis and Prince Mohammed that they discussed "the security environment in the Middle East, to include confronting regional threats through a united Gulf Cooperation Council." She added "they also addressed the importance of U.S.-Saudi Arabia military cooperation in defeating transnational terrorist organizations, and supporting the U.N.-recognized government of the Republic of Yemen's efforts to bring the conflict there to a peaceful resolution." "The two leaders stated they look forward to deepening the U.S.-Saudi Arabia defense partnership and continuing to work closely together," she affirmed. (pick up previous) si
