Blast kills 4, wounds 11 in E. Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, March 19 (KUNA) -- At least four people were killed and 11 others wounded in a blast in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, said officials.
Provincial governor's spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani told media that the explosion occurred near Behsud Bridge in first police district of Jalalabad, the provincial capital. He said that the explosives were rigged in a motorcycle and targeted civilians.
Four civilians were killed and 11 others were wounded in the incident, he added. The blast occurred few minutes after a gathering by a fundamentalist group in the city.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. The bombing came weeks after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani offered to recognize the Taliban rebels as a legitimate political group to end the 16 years of war. (end) sbk.mt
