Kuwait reiterates backing to disabled people

DHABI, March 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan said Friday Kuwait's political leadership is keen to help and support people with intellectual disabilities.
Al-Roudhan, who doubles as Minister of State for Youth Affairs, made the statement to KUNA upon arrival here to attend the opening ceremony of the 9th 2018 Special Olympics MENA Regional Games.
He said the Kuwaiti political leadership backs the role of people with disabilities in sports and social activities.
He hoped that participating Kuwaiti athletes could achieve great results during this regional sports event, which will kick off today and lasts till Thursday.
The event will see the participation of 1,000 athletes from 31 countries. It will be the first major sporting event ahead of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019. (end) bsu.mt
