Min. Al-Roudhan announces winners of Award for Excellence, Creativity

KUWAIT, March 13 (KUNA) -- Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan announced on Tuesday the winners of the Kuwait Award for Excellence and Creativity.
This coincides with the celebrations of Kuwait Youth Day, which falls on March 13 every year, for the third year in a row.
In a press statement today, the minister said the winners' list includes Ali Al-Jufairi, Mariam Al-Eissa, Ahmad Maarafie, Jenan Al-Shehab and Ahmad Al-Aloush as well as Hala Al-Eissa, Bader Al-Shatti, Abdulaziz Al-Rashed, Mona Zayed and Ahmad Mohammad.
The award is estimated at KD 100,000 (USD 332,000) and covers ten fields, he added, wishing further success in the innovation and creativity field for the Kuwaiti youth in the future.
For her part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah said in a similar remark that about 131 male and female youth applied for the award, adding that the winners were selected through specialized arbitration committees.
The Kuwait Youth Day (KYD) affirms that the state pays much attention to its youth and urges them to develop their innovative skills in all fields, she noted.
She indicated that the KYD shows that the country also stresses the importance of youth in the economic and social development march.
Today's celebration includes workshops and lectures for the Kuwaiti youth that kicked off today and runs over a week. These activities discuss ideas of youth and how to meet their interests. She reiterated the ministry's support for youth who are the country's pillars and future. (end) zak.abd.hm
