BAGHDAD, March 3 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi on Saturday urged for restricting arms' possession to the state forces.
Al-Abadi, in a statement during a ceremony for the joint operation command, said weapons must be solely in the hands of the state.
There are some irregular forces in Iraq, namely the paramilitary force, "Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi." The prime minister warned against corruption, particularly in the security ranks.
Al-Abadi expressed satisfaction at his nation's status and evaluation by other states, noting that the Kuwait-hosted conference for rebuilding Iraq constituted a manifestation of the external support for Iraq. (end) ahh.rk
