Police identify Tennessee woman who struck White House security gate

WASHINGTON, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Tennessee woman arrested for ramming security barriers outside of the White House had similar run-ins with security officials, it was revealed late Friday.
Police identified 35-year old Jessica Ford, of LaVergne, Tennessee, as the driver of the white Chevy minivan that struck barriers at a security checkpoint outside the President's residence. It is not her first run in with Secret Service.
"The Secret Service has had previous encounters with the female in the vicinity of the White House resulting in numerous arrests for a variety of criminal violations," the Secret Service said in a statement. "The female was again charged today with numerous criminal violations and transported to the Metropolitan Police Department." Last April, Ford crawled over a crowd control barrier in front of the White House and in May of last year, she was charged unlawful entry after she jumped over a White House bike rack and attempted to climb the perimeter fence.
Eyewitnesses described the minivan crashed into the barricade and tried to push through unsuccessfully. Following the arrest, normal operations resumed at the White House complex, according to the Secret Service. (end) hy.gta
