Changing dateline KUWAIT, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's diplomatic missions on Thursday held functions to celebrate the country' 57th National Day, the 22nd Liberation Day and the 12th anniversary of the assumption of power by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The embassy in London hosted a reception that gathered a large number of members of the UK-based diplomatic corps from Western and Arab countries, and British politicians, economists and public figures.
Ambassador to the UK Khaled Al-Dowaisan expressed congratulations for His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the occasion.
He thanked, in statements to KUNA, the attendees for their keenness on sharing the joy of the national celebrations with the Kuwait people.
He commended the growing ties between Kuwait and the United Kingdom in all fields, noting that the UK plays an active role in the regional and international affairs.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Ambassador to Poland Abdullah Khaled Al-Askar hosted a reception at Sheraton Warsaw Hotel to celebrate the national days.
The function gathered dozens of members of the diplomatic corps from Western and Arab countries, and Polish officials, politicians, economists, academics and public figures as well as Kuwaiti cadets enrolled at Polish army, navy and police academies.
Ambassador Al-Askar congratulated His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and the His Highness the Prime Minister on the occasion.
He expressed, in a statement by the Embassy, the best wishes for the Kuwait leadership and people.
The embassy in Algiers held an artistic performance at Algiers Opera House this evening under the joint patronage of Algerian Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi by and Kuwait Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shabwe.
The performance, offered by Kuwait folklore troupe, gathered a large number of Algeria-based diplomatic corps, public figures, and artistic and media celebrities.
Ambassador Al-Shabwe said the celebration was part of the cultural exchanges between the two sisterly countries.
The performance is one of the items of the agenda of the embassy to celebrate the national days, he said, noting that a similar event will be held on a similar function on Sunday, February 25. (pickup previous) kt.gb
