IAEA says Iran committed to nuclear deal

VIENNA, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The IAEA said on Thursday that Iran had not produced any E1 centrifuges to replace the old ones, nor did they carry any operations to collect enriched uranium through Research and Development enrichment activities.
IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said, as part of a new report by IAEA Director General to the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran's implementation of its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and on matters related to verification and monitoring in Iran in light of Security Council.
The report also noted that assessments regarding the lack of Iran secret nuclear material and activities were still ongoing.
IAEA inspectors continued to verify that nuclear material declared at Iran's nuclear facilities and sites under the safeguards agreement had not been converted.
In terms of centrifuge research, development and manufacturing, Amano said that the enrichment of enriched uranium was not carried out through Research and Development enrichment activities, and that Iranian research and development was carried out with or without uranium using centrifuges within the limits set out in the comprehensive work plan between Tehran and the IAEA.
The report pointed out that Iran had made announcements to the agency about the centrifuges and allowed the agency to verify the items in the inventory.
The agency also conducted continuous monitoring through the use of containment measures and monitoring and verification that the equipment declared was used in the production of rotary tubes for the manufacture of centrifuges only For activities identified in the overall plan of action.
On transparency measures, the report said that Iran continued to allow the Agency to use Internet enrichment and electronic seal control measures and deliver them to IAEA headquarters in Vienna as well as issuing long-term visas to IAEA inspection inspectors in Iran at IAEA request, Workplaces at locations close to nuclear sites.
