OIC Conf. approves labor agreements

JEDDAH, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The Islamic Conference of Cooperation (OIC) Labor Ministers concluded their fourth session Thursday by approving a number of agreements, including a labor market strategy, OIC deal on mutual recognition of skilled labor, and labor exchange agreement among member-countries.
For his part, Saudi Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali Al-Ghafis thanked the participants for their valuable presence and useful discussions and recommendations of submitted documents and decisions at the meeting.
Exchanging labor at current session would have a significant impact on boosting labor market in the Muslim world, Al-Ghafis said.
He also congratulated Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Palestine, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Djibouti, and Cameroon for having been selected as members of the guiding committee for the next two years, wishing them all the best of luck.
The fourth session, organized by Saudi Labor and Social Development Ministry in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), was held under the theme "Developing a Common Strategy for the Development of the Workforce" with the participation of 56 Islamic countries, regional and international organizations.
