KUWAIT, Feb 22 -- 1938 -- Burgan oil well discovered ushering the age of petroleum discovery in Kuwait.
1964 -- MP Rashed Al-Tawheed grilled Minister of Water and Electricity Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali, the first minister from the ruling family to face an interpellation motion.
1965 -- Greece opened embassy in Kuwait.
1972 -- Al-Qabas newspaper issued first edition.
1976 -- An Amiri decree issued to establish the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.
1981 -- An Amiri decree issued to increase Kuwait's defense budget by KD 500 million.
1981 -- An Amiri decree issued to establish Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).
1988 -- The 21 kilometers Kuwait recreational seafront project opened.
2004 -- The national handball team wins the 11th Asian Tournament after beating Japan.
2010 -- Sulaiman Al-Dabous Cardiovascular Center opened in Al-Adan hospital.
2013 -- Kuwait and Mexico signed agreement to protect mutual investment and commercial ventures.
