NEW YORK, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process in New York Nikolay Mladenov.
The meeting, late Tuesday, is part of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's visit to New York to chair UN Security Council meetings, as part of Kuwait's chairmanship of the council in February.
During the meeting, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled stressed on the importance of international cooperation to resume the Mideast peace process, which will have an impact on international peace and security.
He also affirmed Kuwait's support to all measures taken by Palestine to become an independent state.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister's Office Ambassador Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mansour Al-Otaibi, assistant foreign minister for international organizations affairs Minister Plenipotentiary Nasser Al-Hayyen and senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
