EU condoles with Iran over air disaster

BRUSSELS, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- The EU sent Sunday a message of condolence to Iran after some 66 people are feared to have died in a passenger plane crash in the Zagros mountains in Iran earlier today.
"Today's plane accident in Iran caused the loss of a high number of lives. In these difficult hours, the EU sends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and their loved ones," said Catherine Ray, spokesperson for EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, in a statement.
Iran's Aseman was flying from the capital, Tehran, to the southwestern city of Yasuj, but disappeared from radar screen 20 minutes after take off. (end) nk.bs
