Paying prisoners' debts adds to His Highness' humanitarian record -- speaker

KUWAIT, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Sunday praised His Highness the Amir's initiative to pay debts of imprisoned citizens and expatriates.
His Highness the Amir's desire to pay debts of these prisoners from his personal funds and enable them to reunite with their families during the national days is the latest in his record of such good and humanitarian initiatives, the parliament speaker said in a statement.
His Highness the Amir's humanitarian act presents anew an example of how the ruler is aware of citizens and residents' hardships and preoccupations.
Moreover, he has re-presented Kuwait as the Humanitarian Center and a home of social and humanitarian solidarity and relieving the underprivileged.
Echoing identical thoughts, Deputy Speaker Issa Al-Kandari said the latest initiative was registered in his record of humanitarian deeds, wishing His Highness lasting wellbeing. (end) ns.rk
