Deputy FM holds talks with Russian, Chinese envoys on Syria

KUWAIT, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah met on Thursday with Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Alexey Solomatin.
The meeting is part of the country's move to mobilize support for passing a draft resolution submitted to the UN Security Council regarding humanitarian situation in Syria, said the Foreign Ministry in a press statement.
The draft resolution is submitted by the State of Kuwait and Sweden.
The meeting touched upon bilateral relations between Kuwait and Russia, and developments on both regional and international arenas, the statement noted.
Later in the day, Al-Jarallah also met with Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Wang Di for the same purpose, it pointed out.
Al-Jarallah and the Chinese top diplomat dealt with ties between the two countries, according to the statement.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for Deputy Foreign Minister's office affairs Ambassador Ayham Al-Omar and Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organization's Affairs Nasser Al-Hein. (end) hm
